Why YOU should stop eating meat
People ask me why did I stop eating meat all the time. My answer is “do you want me to go in depth?”. There are so many reasons why you should stop eating meat. There are the obvious ones and the less obvious and today I’m going to tell you them all.
1. Ethical The ethical reason is the main reason people stop eating meat. The fact is that these innocent animals get tortured and ultimately killed for our consumption. We as humans are blindsided and don’t want to even think that our food was once living and breathing. Whenever I bring up this topic to someone who isn’t vegan or vegetarian they change the topic or get mad because they don’t want to even think about it.
2. Heath The health reasons surrounding eating meat is quite serious. Surely, meat does have protein and B12 that we do need to function and survive. Now meat is also very high in fat, saturated fat and cholesterol. This can ultimately increase the risk of heart disease and can cause other serious health problems like diabetes. It is high in animal-protein, which can also be too acidic for the human body and has been known to cause kidney disease, cancer and osteoporosis. Also because of the fact that producing animals for billions of people is almost impossible without help, there are chemicals and steroids pumped into these animals so they grow at incredible speeds. Human consumption overtime can cause organ damage, gastrointestinal and immune system disorders, accelerated aging, and infertility.
3. Environmental Whenever I bring this topic up people seem confused. What does me eating this steak have to do with the environment? Actually Raising animals for food requires great amounts of land, food, energy, and water. A staggering 51 percent or more of global greenhouse-gas emissions are caused by animal agriculture, according to a report published by the Worldwatch Institute. According to sciencealert.com a previous study found that following a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet (no meat, fish, or poultry) would result in a 33 percent decrease in greenhouse gas emissions, and vegan diets go even further, with a 53 percent decrease in emissions.
There are many more reasons that aren’t as significant as these that you should stop eating animal flesh... I mean meat lol. Such as you’ll loose weight, it’s cheaper not buying meat, etc. Remember eating meat is satisfying for a few seconds but has a detrimental effect on your health, environment, and these innocent animals!!
